موزهٔ سدبِرک خانوم در منطقه‌ی سارایر (بویوک‌دِره)، در خیابان پیاسا استانبول واقع شده و در دو عمارت چوبی متعلق به قرن نوزدهم قرار دارد: عمارت اصلی معروف به آزاریان یالی‌سی و ساختمان الحاقی «ساختمان سِوگی گونُل». موزه در تاریخ ۱۴ اکتبر ۱۹۸۰ به‌وسیله بنیاد فرهنگی Vehbi Koç افتتاح شد و نخستین موزهٔ خصوصی ترکیه بود.
در سال ۱۹۸۳، بنیاد ساختمان مجاور را خریداری و در سال ۱۹۸۸ آن را (به‌نام Sevgi Gönül Wing) افتتاح کرد تا اشیای باستانی از دوره‌های اولیه تا پایان بیزانس را به نمایش بگذارد — این طراحی به‌قدری برجسته بود که جایزهٔ اروپا نوسترا را دریافت کرد.

The Sadberk Hanım Museum is located in the Sarıyer district (Buyukdere), on Piyasa Street in Istanbul, housed in two 19th-century wooden mansions: the main mansion known as Azaryan Yalısı and the adjacent Sevgi Gönül Building. The museum was inaugurated on October 14, 1980, by the Vehbi Koç Foundation and holds the distinction of being Turkey's first private museum

In 1983, the foundation acquired the neighboring building and opened it in 1988 under the name “Sevgi Gönül Wing” to showcase archaeological artifacts from early periods to the end of the Byzantine era. The design was so outstanding that it received the Europa Nostra Award
